Participants will learn about the importance of contacting 811 before digging, when to contact 811, and key industry terms and definitions. The training also includes practical guidance on white lining project areas, understanding the five steps to safe digging, and navigating the various types of locate tickets. Additionally, it addresses the locating process, color codes, private lines, easements, right of ways, and the concept of positive response. Other critical areas covered include the tolerance zone, update and revise procedures, and best practices for handling electric, telecommunication, water, sewer, and gas lines.
